Privacy at ReworkCV

This page is a plain-language summary of how ReworkCV currently handles user data. It covers sign-in, information saved on your device, AI features, and payments.

Last updated 25 April 2026

Quick summary: when you upload a CV, the app reads it in your browser. Some information is saved on your device so your session and progress are not lost on refresh. If you use AI features, relevant CV text and any job description you enter are sent to our server and OpenAI. Google handles sign-in and Stripe handles payments for paid plans.

What information the app handles

  • Basic Google account details used for sign-in, such as your name, email address, profile image, and account information needed to keep your account secure.
  • CV-related information such as file name, file size, document text, page count, formatting findings, upload times, and analysis results.
  • Optional job descriptions or rewrite instructions that you type into the product.
  • Subscription and billing information such as your selected plan and Stripe subscription records when paid checkout is used.
  • Service and device information used to run, secure, and support the app, such as usage counts, error reports, and browser details.

Where data is stored right now

  • Some information is kept in your browser so your uploaded document, results, preferences, and current session remain available while you use the app.
  • Your browser may also keep an encrypted copy of the active file for a limited time and a local history of earlier analyses to support progress tracking.
  • Subscription status and usage information may also be saved on your device so paid features continue to work properly.
  • Authentication uses secure session handling for sign-in and access control, and the app applies technical safeguards to protect browser-cached file data.
  • Beyond information saved on your device and information handled by the third-party services described here, ReworkCV does not currently intentionally maintain a separate internal store for CV text or user profiles.

When third parties are involved

  • Google is involved when you sign in with Google.
  • OpenAI is involved when you use AI-powered features.
  • Stripe is involved when you start checkout, subscribe to a paid plan, or manage payment-related activity.

Your controls

  • You can clear the current document inside the app, which removes the uploaded document from your active browser data and deletes the related cached file copy.
  • Signing out ends your session and deletes the cached file copy for the current document, but it does not automatically erase all information already saved on your device, such as local history, preferences, or subscription state.
  • You can remove remaining locally saved data by clearing site data in your browser and by using any in-app clear or reset actions that are available.
  • If you have billing questions, contact support@reworkcv.com.
