Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the ReworkCV website, sign-in experience, CV upload and analysis features, and subscription checkout flow. It reflects how the service works today and may be updated if the product changes.

2. Information we collect

• Account information from Google, such as your name, email address, profile image, and account details needed to sign you in and help protect your account.
• CV and application materials, such as uploaded file name, file size, document text, page count, formatting findings, upload and processing times, analysis results, feedback, and any rewrite output generated through the service.
• Information you choose to enter, such as job descriptions, target roles, industries, and custom instructions.
• Subscription and billing information, such as plan choice, billing interval, account references used by the service, and Stripe customer or subscription records.
• Service and device information needed to run and protect the service, such as usage counts, error reports, timing information, and browser details.

3. How we collect information

• Directly from you when you sign in, upload a CV, enter a job description, request analysis, or start checkout.
• From Google when you authenticate with Google OAuth.
• From Stripe when checkout is initiated or Stripe sends payment and subscription updates.
• From your browser when the app saves or restores documents, results, preferences, progress history, subscription state, and support or diagnostic information on your device.

4. How we use information

• To sign you in and keep your account available while you use the service.
• To parse PDF and DOCX files locally in your browser and display your document inside the app.
• To provide AI-powered analysis when requested, including matching your CV against a job description if you provide one.
• To keep your work available across refreshes and show progress over time.
• To manage subscriptions, feature access, billing events, service limits, and support or troubleshooting.

5. Where information is stored

• Some information is saved in your browser while you use the service, including document details, document text, results, preferences, and other session-related information.
• The app may keep an encrypted cached copy of the active file and a local history of earlier analyses on your device to support progress features.
• Subscription status, usage information, and certain service identifiers may also be saved on your device so billing-related features keep working.
• Authentication and account access are maintained through secure session handling.
• Beyond information saved on your device and information handled by the third-party services described in this policy, ReworkCV does not currently intentionally maintain a separate internal database for storing CV text or user profiles.

6. AI processing

When you use AI-powered analysis, relevant CV text, document references, format information, and any job description you provide are sent to our servers and then to OpenAI so the feature can work.

We also keep service records needed to operate and monitor the feature, such as usage counts, timing information, and error details. We do not currently intend to store the full text of your CV in an internal database as part of ordinary product use, but your content is still processed by our hosting provider and by OpenAI to deliver the service.

7. Billing and Stripe

Paid plans use Stripe Checkout. Payment card information is collected by Stripe, not by ReworkCV. To provide paid features, the service shares the information needed to create and manage your subscription, and Stripe sends payment or subscription updates back to the service.

8. Retention

• Information kept on your device may remain until you clear it, sign out, close your browser session, or it expires.
• The encrypted cached copy of the active file is kept only for a limited time and may also be removed when you clear the document or sign out.
• Local history may remain until you remove it through the product, if that control is available, or clear site data in your browser.
• Subscription-related information saved on your device may remain until it is overwritten or cleared.
• Stripe, Google, OpenAI, and your hosting provider may retain data according to their own policies and operational practices.

9. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to help protect uploaded files and account-related information, including information temporarily saved on your device to support the service.

No storage or transmission system is completely secure. You should avoid uploading information you do not want processed through your browser, our hosting environment, OpenAI, Google, or Stripe.

10. Your choices

• You can choose not to sign in, not to upload a CV, and not to use AI-powered features.
• You can clear the current document inside the app and clear browser site data to remove locally stored content.
• You can sign out to end the active auth session.
• You can direct billing questions to support@reworkcv.com.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when product behavior, storage architecture, vendors, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised last-updated date.
